During the past decade, the United States has been impacted by destructive forces by disasters, ranging from earthquakes and mudslides along the west coast regions, floods and sever storms throughout the Midwest and major hurricanes around the gulf coast and east coast regions. These disasters often create severe and ongoing destruction to personal property and assets, flooding and major water damage and displacement to cultural property and coummitys, the most vulnerable, being human life.
